Cyprien Chabert
Cyprien Chabert is a three-dimensional sculptor and one of the most promising and emblematic French artists of his generation.
His exhibition “Dogs Meow” tells the story of a remote island he has discovered. Mankind has deserted the island, making it a paradise on earth for wild animals. Now, the artist invites you to Island. Amidst the harmonious sounds of the animals, there is one that doesn’t quite fit in to the blissful paradise – a continuously barking dog. If you see the dog, please make it stop or meow!
Through the story of the Island, the artist questions the notion of landscape and wildlife, and Paradise, a place with no man, inspired also by the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze.
Vincent Mauroy
The sculptures, collages, drawings and videos of this multidisciplinary French artist “fight” complete each other and reveal a surprising imagination.
In "Scandinavia" his series of drawings collages, he invites us to discover a strange, fabulous and sometimes disturbing world which he elaborated by working again directly on photos of the 1960s, founded mostly in antique shops to be cut, reinterpreted and reshaped.
The series invites us to go physically near the art piece in order to see the details which are revealed during this second reading and make fun of the gaps of a first glance.
